Dinner: Cooked fish, potato and leak soup, rolled cabbage, custard cream cake @ my brother’s house

Took a train to Yokohama to visit my brother and his family. First we went to a studio to listen to a Sanshin band. His wife has been singing and playing the Sanshin (Shamisen, like the musical instrument from Okinawa) in a band for over a year. They will have a concert on Monday and today was a dress rehearsal. I was curious about her passion for this instrument, and I got special permission to be present at the rehearsal.

It was refreshing to see people who have day-jobs getting together to play music, and still be enthusiastic about it.

My brother’s wife cooked everything before the rehearsal, and the dinner was all home-cooked. It was great!
